Good morning, folks...

The Texas Rangers acquired starting pitcher Matt Moore from the San Francisco Giants yesterday in exchange for Sam Wolff and Israel Cruz, while also acquiring international bonus pool money.

The DMN has 10 things to know about Moore.

Jeff Wilson has a piece on the Chris Martin story, about a pitcher who ended up going from Indy Ball to the majors to Japan signing with his hometown team.

Martin almost left the tryout with the Grand Prairie Airhogs because he didn’t have the $50 tryout fee, but they waived it for him, and manager Pete Incaviglia saw right away he had potential.

Mac Engel uses the Rangers negotiating an extension with Jon Daniels to bash the team, the organization as a whole, and Daniels in particular, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has read anything he’s written about the Rangers in the past several years.

Cole Hamels is giving away his Missouri mansion to charity.
