Mike Napoli signing announcement expected tomorrow

Mike Napoli as a Texas Ranger in 2017 has been reported for a while, but there’s been no official signing yet. That apparently is fixing to change, with the beat guys on Twitter saying that Napoli is taking a physical today, and the official announcement that he has signed is anticipated to take place tomorrow.

Napoli reportedly has a deal for one year at around $8-8.5 million, with the Rangers having a club option for 2018. It remains to be seen whether he will be a fulltime first baseman or DH, or if he will primarily play against lefthanded pitchers.

Regardless, though, he will apparently be officially back in the fold tomorrow.
