The Texas Rangers projected 25 man roster for Opening Day has been put together by Evan Grant and published today. And I have to say, it looks almost exactly like what I would project if I were to do one now.
Evan has the Rangers going with an 8 man bullpen and a 4 man rotation at the outset, with off days allowing them to push back the fifth starter spot for a little while, which would buy the Rangers some time to decide who they want in the fifth starter spot while they await Tyson Ross, and to carry a long man or a second reliever, at least initially.
The two question marks right now would seem to be that last pitching staff spot and last bench spot, which Evan has manned by Rule 5 pick Mike Hauschild and prodigal son Josh Hamilton, respectively. Until injuries start striking, I don’t know that there are a ton of other spots up for grabs.
