The Texas Rangers have officially finalized one year contracts for the final seven players on the 40 man roster who were unsigned prior to today, per the beat guys. As a result, every player on the 40 man roster is now under contract.
All the players are getting the league minimum ($535,000) or slightly more than that. Getting everyone not on the 40 man roster under contract is usually a formality that is handled early in spring training, and except in rare cases, where a player feels like he should be getting more than what the team’s offer and refuses to sign, it gets done with no drama.
And that’s what has apparently happened this year for the Rangers. One more thing to check off and not worry about.
