Jurickson Profar hit a home run for the Netherlands today, and it went a long way

Jurickson Profar WBC Video: Jurickson Profar had a home run for the Netherlands today, in their first round WBC matchup with South Korea, and it was quite a blast, giving the Dutch a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Profar, a native of Curacao, one of the islands of the Lesser Antilles, is considered part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Profar is playing center field for the Netherlands today, continuing to show off his versatility. Given that Profar is going to be in a utility role (barring injury) for the Rangers this year, if he can handle center field adequately, that would help get him more playing time. I’ve wondered before if the Rangers wouldn’t be best suited trying Profar in center field full-time, since they don’t have a long-term solution at the position now that Lewis Brinson is gone.
