4-5 - Rangers, Darvish dominate Halos to take series

Yu Darvish and the Rangers emphatically defeat the Angels 8-3 to take the series

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers have now scored 54 runs and have allowed 45 runs in 2017. The Rangers are now 4-5. The pythagorean gods are fickle, no doubt.

Nevertheless, the Rangers have their first two-game winning streak and have won back-to-back series against division mates Oakland and Anaheim. Coupled with the fact that Yu Darvish looked spectacular today and the hitters -- especially the young guys -- have been raking and things are looking much better than than did back when Texas was getting swept to begin the year.

Player of the Game: Yu Darvish's Cy Young campaign began in earnest as the large righty tossed seven shutout innings and finished with a 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 10 Ks line. That feeling you're feeling can be described as: Hnnnng!

Up Next: The Rangers head to Safeco to take on the Mariners for the first time in 2017. Texas will get their first look at RHP King Felix Hernandez while running fellow Venezuelan Martin Perez to the mound for his first road start of 2017. First pitch is scheduled for 9:10 pm CT.
