Sunday morning Rangers news and links

MLB: Spring Training-Chicago White Sox at Texas Rangers Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

Today is Opening Day for several teams in MLB. Tomorrow night is the Rangers’ Opening Day.

Are you excited yet?

The Rangers beat the Royals, 5-3, yesterday, finishing the spring strong.

Levi Weaver has his game story and some Rangers notes.

Evan Grant has his “Takeaways” from yesterday’s game.

The Rangers announced the players who will be on the 25 man roster on Opening Day. Evan Grant runs down the roster to start the season.

Stefan Stevenson says that, despite nine players, including Adrian Beltre, starting the season on the disabled list, the Rangers’ team is relatively healthy.

Andrew Cashner is also starting the season on the disabled list, and it hasn’t been determined if he will be activated on April 15, when the Rangers need a fifth starter. Doug Brocail thinks it may be April 20 or April 25 instead.

Jeff Banister has praise for Joey Gallo’s work this spring and his ability to fill in for Beltre while Beltre is out.

Stefan also does some predictions for the coming season, and has the Rangers winning it all.

Levi has a story on Mike Hauschild, who has a few similarities to Colby Lewis. Hauschild, Jose Leclerc, and Dario Alvarez were the final pitchers to make the Rangers’ Opening Day bullpen.

Gerry Fraley has five things to know about the Cleveland Indians, who the Rangers face in their opening series.

The DMN, meanwhile, has 10 things to know about the Rangers.
