Player of the Game: How's this for a first series slash line for Nomar Mazara: .583/.583/1.000? Tonight, the still 21-year-old Mazara went 3-for-4 with a monster two-run dong and later the first RBI single for the Rangers in the first 22 2/3 innings of baseball in 2017.
The Big Chill had a couple of questionable moments in the field and on the bases, but at the plate, the youngest Ranger has replaced Adrian Beltre admirably in the No. 3 spot in the lineup which is pretty much where you're going to eventually see him hit for the next decade.
Up Next: The Rangers have the day off tomorrow before welcoming division rival Oakland to Arlington for the first time in 2017. A.J. Griffin is scheduled to make his 2017 debut against his old team with the A's countering likely with RHP Raul Alcantara. The Friday night opener is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
