Baseball America’s updated top 100 prospect list is out, and the Texas Rangers have just one representative -- outfielder Leody Taveras, who checks in at #43. The Rangers also had just Taveras on the list in the offseason top 100, though he was #47 then, so he’s moved up four spots.

The only other current Rangers prospects who have gotten serious top 100 consideration this past offseason are Yohander Mendez and Ariel Jurado. Joe Palumbo’s incredible start could of possibly had him in the mix for consideration on BA’s updated list, but given that he’s undergone Tommy John surgery, he’s not a factor at this point.

If you’re looking at former Rangers, Lewis Brinson is currently #20, Luis Ortiz is #73, and Jorge Alfaro is #32.

And interestingly, Brandon Woodruff, who the Rangers drafted in the 5th round in 2011 but couldn’t sign, is #74 on the list.
