Texas Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is out of the lineup today due to a sore back, per the beat guys on Twitter. Choo was in the lineup originally, but the back issue resulted in him sitting, and Delino DeShields replacing him in the lead off spot.
Choo has been dealing with back issues since...well, pretty much since the Rangers signed him prior to the 2014 season. Texas is effectively down to a two man bench today — Pete Kozma and Robinson Chirinos. One has to hope that this is a one day thing, as the Rangers are already missing Adrian Beltre, and several other regulars have struggled this season.
If Choo does end up on the d.l., Drew Robinson would seem to be the likely choice to replace him on the roster, though the Rangers could also opt to bring Jurickson Profar back.
