The Rangers have won seven straight baseball games. In 2016, the Rangers won seven straight as their highest winning streak of the year. Texas won tonight mostly because Yu Darvish exists. Darvish went seven innings, struck out nine, gave up a run and threw 70 strikes in 95 pitches.
The Rangers are back to .500 for the first time since, well, they were 0-0 on Opening Day. Also, the Rangers will probably never lose again.
Player of the Game: Besides Yu being the best player to wear a Rangers jersey right now, hats off to Nomar Mazara for taking one upper tank and Jonathan Lucroy for doubling in a run. But it was a Party at Napoli's kind of night as the big fella went 3-for-3 with a walk and a two-run shot in the eighth to put the game to bed.
Up Next: The Rangers and Phillies resume this series with Andrew Cashner on the mound for Texas against Philly's RHP Zach Eflin. Texas goes for the longest winning streak in baseball this season with first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
