Earlier today, I wrote about the Baseball America mock draft that had the Rangers taking a couple of prep pitchers. Jonathan Mayo also has a new mock draft out, and he has the Rangers taking a high school pitcher and a local high school outfielder.
Mayo has the Rangers taking Minnesota high school righthander Sam Carlson at #26 — that’s the same as BA’s projection. However, at #29, Mayo has Texas taking Arlington Martin outfielder Tristen Lutz, a guy who appears to be a late-raiser and is being talked about as a possible late first-rounder.
Interestingly, Mayo has Bubba Thompson, the guy I’ve pegged as a natural fit for Texas, going at #28 to the Blue Jays.
