The Rangers have followed up their ten game winning streak by going 2-5 to drop back under .500. Texas has lost four straight games dating back to the series opener in Boston and have now lost every game on record that has ever been played at Rogers Centre.
The House of Horrors up north also claimed A.J. Griffin as he left in the second inning of his start grabbing at his side. Of course, this came after he had walked the bases loaded and given up a grand slam to Devon Travis. You think Colby Lewis still has a valid passport?
Down 4-0, the Rangers scored six runs but the Jays also scored three more runs over the course of the game and despite my personal wishes, the grand slam still counted so the Rangers lost 7-6 even after Rougned Odor silenced a few blue boo birds with a ninth inning three-run dinger.
You will be happy to note that the Rangers only struck out eight times tonight, however. That is, of course, 12 fewer times than they struck out last night.
Player of the Game: Justin Biebers-Dickx came in for an injured A.J. Griffin in the bottom of the second and tossed four innings of needed, bullpen-saving work. Bibens-Dirkx allowed three runs but did most of the heavy lifting for a beleaguered bullpen needing someone to eat some innings.
Up Next: Who's ready for lunch with Yu Darvish? The Rangers and Blue Jays play tomorrow beginning at 12:07 pm CT with Darvish pitching opposite RHP Marco Estrada.
