Jose Leclerc throws scoreless inning for Frisco

Reliever Jose Leclerc pitched a scoreless inning for Frisco in his first rehab appearance

Minnesota Twins v Texas Rangers

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc began a rehab assignment for the Frisco Roughriders today, and pitched a scoreless inning with no apparent problems. Leclerc retired all three hitters he faced, needing just 12 pitches, 8 strikes against 4 balls.

Leclerc has been on the disabled list for a couple of weeks due to a bone bruise on his finger, which had limited his availability for much of the season. When able to take the mound for the Rangers, Leclerc was a weapon out of the bullpen, and his absence has been felt, particularly given the struggles of Sam Dyson and Jeremy Jeffress.

Leclerc is expected to make another appearance for Frisco on Tuesday, and if all goes well, would likely be activated on Thursday. Texas will then have to decide if they want to drop one of their extra outfielders and return to an eight man bullpen, or drop one of their pen members.
