The Texas Rangers have activated pitcher A.J. Griffin from the 10 day disabled list. Griffin is scheduled to start against the Astros this afternoon.
To make room for Griffin on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned pitcher Anthony Bass to AAA Round Rock. Bass soaked up some innings yesterday as the long man, and his reward is to go back to the minors, as is often the case when a long man soaks up innings.
The Rangers rotation for the next few weeks is likely to be Griffin, Yu Darvish, Martin Perez, Andrew Cashner and Nick Martinez.
