The Texas Rangers have signed Bubba Thompson, Chris Seise, and Hans Crouse, their top three picks in the MLB draft which took place this week. Thompson signed for $2.1M, Seise for $2M, and Crouse for $1.45M.
Slot money for 26, where Thompson was selected, was $2,450,100, which means he got about $350K below slot. Slot money for 29, Seise’s spot, was $2,238,900, so Seise was almost $250K below slot. Crouse’s slot figure was $926,500, however, meaning he was signed for about $525K over slot.
It was expected that the Rangers would sign all three, so this isn't a surprise, but it is good to hear that all three are under contract and ready to start their pro careers.
