36-36 - Gomez's big day helps Rangers bomb Blue Jays 11-4 in finale

Texas won the finale against Toronto to complete a winning homestand

Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Me watching the Texas Rangers bludgeon the Toronto Blue Jays all day today:

The Rangers kept the Blue Jays under .500 again. Today's fun fact: With today's loss the Blue Jays remain the only team in MLB to not have a winning percentage of at least .500 at any point this season. The Blue Jays are, by definition, the biggest losers in the entire sport.

Player of the Game: Carlos Gomez has been surface-of-the-sun hot since returning from the DL and today he ignited for two homers in a 3-for-4 afternoon with five RBIs.

Up Next: The Rangers closed out this seven game homestand with a winning record and now travel to New York to take on the Yankees. The opener will feature a matchup between Yu Darvish and RHP Masahiro Tanaka. But perhaps the even more anticipated matchup is Joey Gallo vs Aaron Judge. First pitch from Yankee Stadium is scheduled for 6:05 pm CT.
