Drew Robinson had a big game for the Rangers yesterday, picking up his first major league hit -- a home run — and following it up with a double, but with Joey Gallo’s hamstring allowing him to return to the lineup tonight in Cleveland, Robinson has been optioned to AAA Round Rock to make room for tonight’s starting pitcher, Cole Hamels, who is being activated from the d.l.
It was expected that Robinson’s time in the majors would be brief — he was called up Saturday — although with Gallo having gone back to Arlington to get the hamstring issue looked at, I thought maybe he would be d.l. bound just to be safe. Instead, he is back in the lineup, as is Nomar Mazara, who missed the final two games of the New York series as well.
The lineup:
Choo — RF
Elvis — SS
Mazara — LF
Beltre -- 3B
Odor — 2B
Gomez — CF
Lucroy -- C
Napoli — DH
Gallo — 1B
Cole Hamels faces off against Carlos Carrasco for Cleveland.
