Mock Draft: The Texas Rangers have two first round selections in the 2017 draft that kicks off Monday, and in his latest mock draft, Jim Callis has Texas selecting JuCo pitcher Nate Pearson and Arlington Martin outfielder Tristen Lutz.
We wrote up Lutz last week, as well as Pearson. Both players have been frequently linked to Texas, and both selections would make sense in the overall scheme of the team’s priorities and drafting preferences.
The MLB draft will be on Monday, June 12, with the Rangers having selections at both #26 (their own first round pick) and #29 (their compensatory pick for losing Ian Desmond in free agency).
