When the Rangers signed Adrian Beltre he was known as a great defensive third baseman with a couple of very good seasons with the bat. Now, in his seventh season in Texas, Beltre is known for his otherworldly defense at third base and his all-time great career at the plate for a third baseman.

In 2011, for the first time, Rawlings gave away a Platinum Glove to the top overall defender in each league. Adrian Beltre was the inaugural winner in the American League. Oh, and then he won it again in 2012.
