Baseball Prospectus has released their mid-season top 50 prospect list, and the Rangers have just one player who made the cut — outfielder Leody Taveras.

This isn’t particularly surprising, and the fact that Taveras, who is putting up a .265/.318/.379 slash line as an 18 year old in A ball, makes the list at #30 is a positive thing. Taveras, a switch-hitting true centerfielder, has garnered comparisons to Carlos Beltran, and is probably going to be the top prospect in the Ranger system for the next couple of years.

Former Ranger Lewis Brinson, who was sent to Milwaukee in the Jonathan Lucroy trade, checks in at #10. Catcher Jorge Alfaro, who Texas sent to Philadelphia in the Cole Hamels deal, is at #34.
