Elvis Andrus falls short in All Star vote

Elvis Andrus was one of the final five players fans could vote on for the final All Star spot, but fell short

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus was one of five finalists for the last spot on the American League All Star team, which was voted on by the fans, but it has been announced this evening that Mike Moustakas was the winner of that vote, beating out Elvis, Xander Bogaerts, Didi Gregorius, and Logan Morrison.

So it appears that Elvis will not be heading to the All Star Game. He is probably okay with that, though, since his wife gave birth to a son, Elvis Emilio, in the wee hours of the morning today. Elvis is currently on paternity, and will be activated by Saturday, but he will be able to spend the break with his newborn.
