The Texas Rangers have traded outfielder Travis Snider to the New York Mets for cash considerations, John Blake has announced.
Snider, 29, was signed to a minor league deal in the offseason, and has spent the year at AAA Round Rock, putting up a .294/.375/.435 slash line in 413 plate appearances for the Express.
The Rangers are likely getting just a nominal amount back, and Snider will presumably have a better chance of getting a major league callup in September with the Mets than with Texas.
