Los Angeles Dodgers placing Yu Darvish on the disabled list

The Dodgers are putting former Ranger pitcher Yu Darvish on the disabled list

MLB: Miami Marlins at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Yu Darvish, the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher who was a Texas Rangers starting pitcher until we sadly saw him traded at the deadline last month, s heading to the 10 day d.l. due to back soreness, per the beat writers in L.A.

This is supposed to be a minor issue and it sounds like it will just cost him one start, but the Dodgers have a big enough lead that it makes sense for them to err on the side of caution. Neck and back issues have cropped up with Darvish in the past, and have generally been able to be managed by pushing his start back a few days or skipping his spot.

Anyway, I'm still bummed he's not a Ranger, but I guess we can take solace in knowing that, since he's not here right now, the He's Not An Ace And Doesn't Care crowd among Rangers fans and media won't get to harp on this.
