The rosters for the Arizona Fall League dropped earlier today. The Rangers, Royals, Twins, Cardinals, and Rays will all combine forces and form the Surprise Saguaros. The Saguaros will be managed by Spike Owen, who currently manages the Hickory Crawdads.
You can find the full roster here.
8 Rangers, 8 Cardinals, 7 Rays, 4 Twins, and 4 Royals comprise the Saguaros. The Ranger names range from notable to “yeah that sounds okay.” Yanio Perez and Josh Morgan, who actually had strikingly similar offensive seasons, are probably the headliners. Big lefty Adam Choplick will head to Surprise after a pretty successful campaign Down East, where he played with Tyler Ferguson, who heads to Surprise trying to bounce back after a rough year. Steven Bruce, David Ledbetter, Luis La O, and Michael O’Neill will also represent the Rangers.
The Saguaros appear to be one of the less exciting rosters in the AZL, if you’re going by big name prospects. Sandy Alcantara is an interesting arm for the Cardinals.
