Adrian Beltre hamstring strain may end his season

The Rangers have announced Adrian Beltre has a Grade 2 hamstring strain, with a four week recovery time

MLB: Texas Rangers at Houston Astros Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has a grade 2 hamstring strain, according to John Blake on Twitter. Blake says the expected recovery time for the injury is four weeks, which means that Beltre's season could effectively be over.

Beltre isn't disabled list bound since the rosters expand to 40 today. Joey Gallo will presumably get the bulk of the time at third base in Beltre's absence, though Evan Grant has said that Will Middlebrooks, who has had a strong season at AAA Round Rock, is expected to be added to the roster today. Middlebrooks is not on the 40 man roster, so the Rangers would have to make a move to clear a spot.
