Through the first seven innings yesterday it looked like the Rangers were going to come away with a big series win against the Yankees, but then the rest of the weekend happened and the Rangers are back to .500 where, frankly, they look like where they were always destined to be.
Now Adrian Beltre is out, Nomar Mazara is aching, Carlos Gomez has probably played his last game as a Ranger, and Rougned Odor left today’s game with an injury and the Rangers have 20 games left to try to make a push for the playoffs.
Good luck.
Player of the Game: If he stays healthy, Robinson Chirinos is going to make the All-Star team in 2018.
Up Next: The Rangers begin a series against the Mariners for the first of 20 games against their divisional foes to close out the season. The Rangers will play 14 of those games against the M’s and A’s which would usually be a good thing because those teams suck but those teams also have a way of making life miserable for Texas.
