Texas Rangers 2018 schedule: The Texas Rangers have released their 2018 schedule, and they open the season at home against the Houston Astros on Thursday, March 29, with a four game set, following by a four game trip to Oakland.

Some thoughts, having briefly perused the schedule...

The Rangers open the season with fourteen straight games in fourteen days — after the Oakland trip, they are back home for three against Toronto and three against the Angels. I don’t remember the team starting the season with so many games in a row without an off day.

The Rangers get the Blue Jays out of the way early, playing three at home against the Jays in early April, and then three in Toronto at the end of April.

For interleague play, the Rangers have two games at L.A. on June 12-13, three at home against Colorado on June 15-17, three at home against the Padres June 25-27, two at home against Arizona on August 14-15, three at the Gaints on August 24-26, two at home against the Dodgers on August 28-29, and three at San Diego on September 14-16.

If Texas is going to get a playoff spot in 2018, they will need to go into September with a good record...texas finishes the year with 16 of their final 22 on the road, including two three-game sets at Anaheim, and a four game set in Seattle to end the season.
