There’s not much to say about the 2017 Texas Rangers anymore. Tonight they did nothing against Mike Leake and Martin Perez sprung a leak in the fifth inning after cruising through the first four.
Eventually, the Mariners poured it on in the mid-to-late innings against the trash fire that remains the Texas bullpen.
The Rangers are running out of time, but then again, if they can’t beat the Mariners, what’s the point?
Player of the Game: Robinson Chirinos drove in the lone run for the Rangers because he’s the lone good player remaining on the Rangers. Well, except for the heroic Adrian Beltre who pinch hit tonight despite a recently shredded calf because the bench is loaded up with the Ryan Ruas of the world and half the team is injured.
Up Next: Another game against the Mariners with another 7:05 pm CT first pitch. Felix Hernandez makes his return from the DL to face Texas while the Rangers will counter with Andrew Cashner.
