The Texas Rangers placed one prospect, outfielder Willie Calhoun, on the Baseball America top 20 prospect list for the Pacific Coast League. Calhoun, who split the season between Oklahoma City (the Dodgers’ affiliate) and Round Rock, was #15 on the list, with BA saying he can have an average hit tool, but profiles as a left fielder.
The only other Ranger I thought might be in the mix for a spot on this list is first baseman Ronald Guzman, who could be a candidate at the back end of some top 100s this offseason after a nice season for the Express.
