Monday Morning Texas Rangers Update

Good morning. As the person who writes these on Mondays, I had this feeling that something wasn’t right this morning. It turns out, posting links after a Rangers win on Sunday had become a rare occasion and I hadn’t even realized it.

The Rangers had been zero for their last five games on Sundays and had only won once on a Sunday since the end of June. Apparently the only thing taking Sundays off more than the Rangers is Chick-fil-A.

Levi Weaver recaps the rare Sunday win as Texas beat the Angels 7-6 in another nailbiter thanks to some timely defense, some good starting pitching from Martin Perez, and the power of Elvis (?!).

Stefan Stevenson reacts to the win with the Rangers once again finding themselves at .500 and on the fringes of the Wild Card chase.

Sam Butler’s game story focuses on Perez becoming the man to slay Sunday for the Rangers.

Yu Darvish booty Willie Calhoun was the star of the minors yesterday as he went off against his former OKC mates for two home runs, eight RBIs, and a game-winning walkoff grand slam.

T.R. Sullivan previews tonight’s game against the Atlanta Braves with Andrew Cashner set to face knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.

And, lastly, the Rangers kept it loose before the game by opening the doors to the media wearing animal masks hopefully while bumping the Hotline Miami OST. The highlight, of course, was the Rooster himself Joey Gallo.
