Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Trevor Hoffman, and Vladimir Guerrero have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, it was announced today.
Guerrero, of course, was a long-time Texas Rangers nemesis while with the Anaheim Angels before spending the 2010 season with the Rangers as their DH. Vlad retired after the 2011 season, and after coming short in his first year on the ballot last year, he makes it in this year.
Hoffman, who is second all time on the career saves list, came just a few votes short last year as well, before making it in this year, in his third year on the ballot. Jones and Thome, meanwhile, each made it in their first year on the ballot.
These four players all were expected to make it in this season. Edgar Martinez was seen as also being a possibility, but fell short with 70%.
