Baseball America has released their top 20 prospect list for the Arizona Rookie League today, and one Texas Rangers prospect made the cut — infielder Jonathan Ornelas.

Ornelas, the Rangers’ third round pick in 2018, had an impressive pro debut, putting up a .302/.389/.459 slash line in 172 at bats, earning him the #10 spot on the list for the 18 team league. The Rangers’ first and second round picks, Cole Winn and Owen White, didn’t pitch for the AZL Rangers team, and thus weren’t eligible for consideration, but getting a third rounder on there is an accomplishment.

The one other AZL Ranger I thought might get consideration was 20 year old righthanded pitcher Yerry Rodriguez, who had an ERA of 3.52 in 38.1 IP, but who had an eye-popping 55:3 K/BB ratio before earning a promotion to Spokane.
