Carlos Asuaje, the second baseman claimed on waivers from the San Diego Padres by the Texas Rangers, is going to be joining the Korean Baseball Organization team the Lotte Giants once a buyout with the Rangers is finalized, according to Jeff Passan.

This deal has been rumored for a while now. Asuaje was claimed to give the Rangers some infield depth, but he was unlikely to have a role in the major league team in 2019, and this will be an opportunity to get a better payday overseas.

Asuaje leaving would drop the 40 man roster to 34, though the expected Lance Lynn signing would move it back to 35.
