The Texas Rangers have announced that infielder Carlos Asuaje has officially had his contract sold to the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization. Asuaje has been released from the Rangers and is no longer on the 40 man roster. The roster now has 35 players on it

Asuaje is a second baseman who was claimed on waivers by the Rangers from the San Diego Padres earlier this month. He was unlikely to have a role on the major league team this year, and by going to Korea he has an opportunity to make more money in 2019 than he would here. The Rangers, meanwhile, get some amount of money from the Lotte Giants, which they can spend on pennywhistles and Moon Pies.
