Jurickson Profar had a difficult 2017 season, but is coming into 2018 ready to show that he’s deserving of a regular major league role. Profar says he wants to stay with the Texas Rangers, and not be traded.

The Rangers signed veteran righthanded pitcher Edinson Volquez to a two year minor league contract. Volquez won’t pitch in 2018 as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, but will compete for a major league job in 2019.
