The Texas Rangers had their first spring training game of the season today, during which they had their first injury issue of the spring, as Hanser Alberto left early due to a tight hamstring. Alberto had started the game at third base, and was lifted in the fifth inning after running out a single.

This has to be frustrating for Alberto, who is back on the field after missing all of the 2017 season due to shoulder surgery, but it doesn't sound like it is a major issue. Alberto is in camp on a minor league deal, and will likely be in Round Rock to start the season unless there's an injury, as the out-of-options Jurickson Profar appears guaranteed to start the season as the team's utility infielder.
