Mike Napoli and the Cleveland Indians have agreed to a minor league deal, according to Jordan Bastian on Twitter. Napoli spent the 2017 season with the Texas Rangers, who declined his 2018 team option.
Napoli had a disappointing and injury-plagued season with the Rangers in 2017, putting up a .193/.285/.428 slash line in 485 plate appearances. He spent the 2016 season with Cleveland, and had a solid year with them then, slashing .239/.335/.465, so we shall see if he can re-capture what he had in a return to the Indians. At 36, Napoli may be looking at his last shot at keeping his career going.
