Centeno, Tocci in Saturday Texas Rangers lineup

Carlos Tocci is a Rule 5 pick who is an elite defender who has to show he can hit enough to avoid being returned to the Philadelphia Phillies. Juan Centeno is a veteran backup catcher who is out of options, and who hasn’t shown enough so far to keep the Rangers from looking outside the organization at other possible backup catcher options.

Both guys are getting a chance to help their claims to a roster spot today, as each is in the starting lineup in the Rangers’ home game against the ChiSox.
