2018 MLB Mock Draft season is apparently starting, as Fangraphs has released their first mock draft for the year. The MLB Draft is on June 4, 2018, and the Texas Rangers are picking 15th in the first round.
This mock draft only goes through the first ten picks, so they don’t actually mock a selection to the Rangers, but they do connect the Rangers with two potential selections — CF Connor Scott and CF Jordyn Adams.
The profile on both Scott and Adams will sound familiar to Rangers fans...Scott is a toolsy, fast high school center fielder from Florida who is ranked #10 on the Fangraphs draft prospect rankings, and who they describe as having “arguably the highest [upside]” among high school position players. Adams, meanwhile, is a high schooler from North Carolina who is a two-sport athlete, having a football and baseball scholarship to UNC, who Fangraphs says has 80 speed. BA had a write-up on Adams last week.
