The Texas Rangers minor league system lacks a blue chip, top 100 catching prospect currently, but it does have quite a few interesting catching prospects who could end up having major league careers.
Mark Parker has an interview up with Chris Briones, the catching coordinator for the Rangers, and talks about what the Rangers look for and want to see from their young catchers. He also gets Briones’ thoughts on a number of the Ranger’s catching prospects, including Jose Trevino, Josh Morgan, Sam Huff and Yohel Pozo.
Its a really good, in-depth conversation, and you should check it out.
