Sunday morning Rangers news and links

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

The Texas Rangers beat the Kansas City Royals yesterday, 4-3, on a walk off home run by Shin-Soo Choo.

Stefan Stevenson’s game story talks about the old guys, Choo and starting pitcher Bartolo Colon, leading the way yesterday.

Gerry Fraley’s game story notes that only once before in Colon’s lengthy career has he pitched in a game where it was hotter at game time.

Choo’s home run made him the all time leader in home runs among players born in Asia.

With the draft approaching, the DMN looks back at the Rangers’ 2011 draft class, though oddly, in talking about players the Rangers drafted that debuted with other teams, it doesn’t differentiate between Kyle Hendricks, who they signed and later traded, and Brandon Finnegan, who they didn’t sign.

Evan Grant highlights the five best draft picks during Jon Daniels’ time with the Rangers.

The Rangers’ website notes talk about Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Matt Moore, Elvis Andrus and Shin-Soo Choo.

The DMN notes talk about Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s defense compared to Adrian Beltre, the draft, Matt Moore, and Joey Gallo.
