22-34 - Rangers miss their chances in 2-1 loss to Mariners

Bad defense, poor baserunning, and wasted chances doom Rangers in Memorial Day loss in Seattle

MLB: Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

After many a missed opportunity with the bats, to go along with iffy defense, the only thing that would have made this game more 2018 Rangersy is if they had lost 5-1.

Player of the Game: Doug Fister allowed two runs in six innings however both of them came after Rougned Odor botched a potential inning ending double play ball. Two runs in six innings should get you a win but perhaps the Rangers are protesting the stupidity of the pitcher wins stat.

Up Next: The Rangers and Mariners play the second game of this series with Austin Bibens-Dirkx set to face King Felix Hernandez. First pitch from Seattle is scheduled for 9:10 pm CT.
