The Rangers are back home for a seven game home stand, starting with a four game weekend series against the Boston Red Sox. Our old pal Mitch Moreland is sitting at the top with his team as they lead the majors with a 22-8 record.
Game one will match up Mike Minor and Davis Price. In Price’s last outing he gave up six runs on eight hits and four walks in a loss against Tampa. He’s 4-2 in eight starts against the Rangers with a 6.53 ERA. Choo has two homers off Price in 14 at-bats.
Friday’s game will be a battle of the team aces: Rick Porcello and Bartolo Colon. Porcello is 4-0 and has allowed just one home run this season with a 2.23 ERA. Bartolo has a 2.87 ERA in his six outing this season. Moreland has two homers and three RBIs in 10 ABs against Colon.
On Saturday, Boston’s starting pitcher, Eduardo Rodriguez will make his first start ever at Texas. Cole Hamels will get the start for the Rangers.
In Sunday afternoon’s series finale, the Rangers will face Chris Sale who is 2-1 and has 2.14 ERA and 51 strikeouts this season. Doug Fister will make the start for the Rangers and face his former team.
