The Texas Rangers have activated Matt Moore, tonight’s starting pitcher, from the disabled list. To make room on the active roster, the Rangers optioned pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx to AAA Round Rock.
Moore was put on the d.l. with a sore knee, prompting the Rangers to bring up Bibens-Dirkx to fill in. Moore has been awful this season, and it appears the hope is that the d.l. stint and side work will help get him back on track. The upcoming off day on Monday means the Rangers can skip this spot in the rotation if they want, however, and if Moore has another disastrous start, this could be the end of Moore’s time in the Ranger rotation.
