Adrian Beltre activated, Ryan Rua optioned

The Texas Rangers have activated Adrian Beltre from the disabled list, the team announced today. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned Ryan Rua to AAA Round Rock. Beltre has been on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Beltre is reportedly going to have a lighter workload than in the past, with more DHing and more days off. The demotion of Rua means that Shin-Soo Choo is effectively the backup outfielder as well as the regular DH, with Joey Gallo being the backup CF.
