Mike Minor had a weird start where he was perhaps as efficient with his pitches as he’s been all season but also gave up five runs on three home runs before he had collected the fifth out of the game.
Ultimately Minor went a season-high seven innings to at least save the bullpen a few throws but not many teams will go on to win games they trail 5-0 with one out in the second inning and certainly not these Rangers.
Player of the Game: Adrian Beltre is back and he went 3-for-4 and drove in a couple of runs and I’m just happy to get to watch my favorite player again even though the Rangers are bad.
Up Next: The Rangers and Tigers conclude this series with Bartolo Colon set to make the start for Texas against LHP Francisco Liriano for Detroit. First pitch from The Ballpark promises to be a sweltering 1:05 pm CT affair.
