The top 131 MLB prospect list from Fangraphs is out and updated post-draft, and the Texas Rangers have four players who make the cut.

Willie Calhoun, despite his rough start to the 2018 season, retains the top spot among Rangers, moving up in the overall rankings from 46 to 44. Leody Taveras jumps up 12 spots in the Fangraphs rankings, to #74 from #86. And Cole Ragans, despite missing this season and the first half of 2019 with Tommy John surgery, stays on the list, albeit just barely, dropping from 96 to 121.

Finally, joining the list for the first time is 2018 first round pick Cole Winn, who checks in at #100. Winn hasn’t officially signed with the Rangers yet, but multiple reports indicate that he’s in Arlington for his physical, and his signing is expected to be announced tomorrow.

The most notable omission from this list for the Rangers would be Julio Pablo Martinez, the Cuban who was signed earlier this year, and who is currently playing in the Dominican Summer League to get him accustomed to baseball again after not having played for over a year. There are some who view Martinez as a top 100 prospect, although its not unreasonable for the Fangraphs folks to have excluded him, particularly given that he hasn’t played in the United States yet.
