The Rangers have found the win column for the first time in over a week as they managed to rally from down 2-0 in the seventh all the way to a 5-2 victory.

The big hit for Texas came with two on in a tied game in the bottom of the eighth when Adrian Beltre hit a two-run triple (!) to break things open.

It wasn’t always so joyful at The Ballpark as Texas trailed 2-0 after they had failed to score for 14 consecutive innings dating back to the second inning of yesterday’s loss.

Despite a solid afternoon of pitching from Mike Minor (7 IP, 5 H, 2ER, 2 BB, 6Ks) and another on base fiesta by Shin-Soo Choo (2-for-3 with a walk), it appeared that the Rangers would be headed for an eighth straight loss until they started stringing together hits in their final two frames at the plate to pull out an unexpected win.

Player of the Game: Jose Trevino’s first big league hit came in his first big league start and it tied the game at 2-2 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh in an eventual win for the Texas Rangers. Nobody is having a better week than Jose Trevino.

Up Next: The Rangers will close out this series with Yovani Gallardo making his return to the mound for Texas opposite RHP Jon Gray for Colorado. First pitch in the finale is scheduled for a sweltering 2:05 pm CT.
