It was four years ago yesterday that Texas Rangers beat writer Richard Durrett passed away suddenly at the age of 38. In the aftermath of his passing, folks in the D/FW media and sporting world came together to raise funds for Richard’s family. Since then, Do It For Durrett has continued to hold events to help raise money for families impacted by sudden loss.
The fifth Do It For Durrett event is being held on June 27 at Globe Life Park, and tickets are still available. You can check out the information about the event, which includes a ticket to the game that night, dinner, and live and silent auctions, here. And if you can’t go but will stick like to support the event, you can make a donation online here.
This is a great event that does a lot to help families in the memory of one of the really good folks to cover the Rangers, and I hope some of you will be able to attend.
